Coachella left me in tears this year as BLACKPINK made their debut in the United States with not only one, but TWO shows. Though the festival is over, I’m still reliving every special moment through fancams, Instagram, YouTube, and reminiscing with other BLINKS.

When I initially saw the lineup for Coachella, I was overjoyed to see that BLACKPINK was one of the headliners for 2019. This had particular significance because BLACKPINK is the first all-female K-pop group to perform at Coachella. History has been made. And best of all, I enjoyed the show from the comfort of my living room couch thanks to it being live streamed on YouTube!

For all the new BLINKS out there, Jennie, Lisa, Rosé, and Jisoo are the four members of BLACKPINK. The group was formed by YG Entertainment and debuted in South Korea in 2016. Since then, their popularity has gone global with millions of fans all around the world including celebrities such as Ariana Grande, Will Smith, Jaden Smith, Harry Styles, Diplo, and Dua Lipa. Today, BLACKPINK has over 5 billion views on YouTube and has broken several records including their EP ‘Kill This Love’ becoming the fastest K-pop girl group music video to hit 20 million views.

There were so many parts during their performance that gave me goosebumps including:

Lisa’s rapping during ‘Kick It’

Jennie say BITCH during ‘Solo’

Rosé’s energy while talking to the crowd

Jisoo singing ‘Kiss and Make Up’ in perfect English

BLACKPINK performed a total of thirteen songs including ‘Kill This Love’, ‘Ddu-du Ddu-du’, ‘Boombayah’, ‘Kiss and Make Up’, ‘Whistle’, and ‘Don’t Know What to Do’. Even watching through the Coachella YouTube live stream, you can hear the crowd singing along and cheering loudly for the girls. Festival attendees, BLINKS, influencers, and celebrities were all gathered under the Sahara tent to witness their show-stopping vocals and choreography. The show was a non-stop spectacle.

The group will be continuing their world tour so look out! BLACKPINK is in your area!
