HomeLifestyleThe Return of Dunkaroos Lifestyle The Return of Dunkaroos Calling all 90’s kids! Dunkaroos are officially back! The little cookies we ‘dunked’ into frosting when we were kids has made its return since being discontinued from the US in 2012. What better time to bring back happy childhood memories than now. Fun Fact When Dunkaroos first disappeared, they were still available in our neighboring country of Canada. Loyal fans have gone as far as driving to Canada to them or asking friends and family to ship them over. That lead Dunkaroos to launch a website called Smugglaroos. According to Bustle and a General Mills spokesperson, “Smugglaroos is a short-term campaign General Mills launched as a fun and cheeky way to connect Canadians with Americans who want Dunkaroos but don’t have access to them.” With Smugglaroos, Americans and Canadians would bond over their love for the snack then coordinate to meet and bring the snack back to the US. Sadly, Canada too lost Dunkaroos in 2018. Now that they are back in the US, is it our turn to return the favor to our neighbors? Will They Taste The Same? Ever since their disappearance, people have been trying to reproduce the same taste at home. Walmart even came out with their own version called “Dunk ‘N Crunch”. But nothing could compare to the original so you will be happy to hear that Dunkaroos will be returning with the same exact recipe we loved growing up. For now, the two flavors that are coming back are Vanilla Cookies and Vanilla Frosting with Rainbow Sprinkles. No word on the return of other flavors yet.
